FDA warns that widely used epilepsy drug may have rare fatal side effects

Two widely prescribed epilepsy The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning that the drug may cause a rare but serious allergic reaction that can be life-threatening.

There are more than 40 cases of severe reactions globally, known as Drug reactions with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome, which has been detected in people taking the drug Levetiracetam and Clobazam. The more common brand names of the former are Keppra or Keppra XR, and the brand names of the latter are Onfi or Sympazan.
